Service Provider Focus: William H. Kopke Jr., Inc.
This week we are putting a spotlight on William H. Kopke Jr., Inc!
William and his family have been involved with the Summer Citrus from South Africa program since the early days, and they were one of the very first importers to bring citrus from South Africa into the US.
Please enjoy this video which was filmed earlier in the summer and learn more from William Kopke Jr., as he elaborates on the quality of the product from South Africa, as well as emphasizing the IMPORTANCE of sending the right quality to the US market, as well as other aspects of our model of collaboration.
You will also see the product from South Africa being re-packed at their KDC facility in New Jersey. I really appreciate the company’s core purpose which is:
“We produce together, if anything goes wrong along that chain, it doesn’t end well.”
William also refers to how South Africa has set the stage for the import citrus business into the US and how other countries have followed.
We execute a business model of managing supply and demand and our group has grown almost 2.5 times over the last five seasons. Our group’s mission is to provide US customers with a fresh supply of delicious citrus fruit throughout the summer, when local supply is unavailable. William also refers to how the Summer Citrus category has grown and the potential here in the US market.
Our group is only as strong as our service providers and their respective teams. Thank you to William Kopke, and team, for their contribution to our program and the continued support!
We are now in so-called “fall season” and South Africa still has enough supply to adhere to the demand of the market until at least the end of October.
